You might wonder: What causes frequent urination in the body? This article will look at some common causes, such as Kidney stones, Diabetes, Interstitial cystitis, and Kidney infections.

Identifying the cause of frequent urination is essential to finding a remedy for this problem.

There are other possible causes of frequent urination, as well, so it’s important to seek medical help if you have frequent urges to urinate.

Kidney stones

Kidneys are your body’s garbage collector. They filter out excess water and waste products in your blood so that they can pass out in the urine.

If these waste products remain in your body, they would accumulate and cause damage.

Your kidneys keep your body’s balance of water, salt, and minerals, but high amounts of minerals in urine create an environment that promotes the growth of kidney stones.

If you suspect that you may have kidney stones, a doctor may order blood tests to determine whether you have an underlying medical condition that is causing your frequent urination.

Urine tests may also identify the type of stone you have and determine whether it is preventing future stones from forming.

Certain medications and changes in diet may help you prevent stones from forming in the future.

The treatment of kidney stones will depend on the type of stone, the severity of your symptoms, and the duration of your symptoms.

Your health care provider will give you the best option based on the type of stone and your condition.

Diabetes

Diabetes

People with diabetes are prone to frequent urination due to various reasons. One of these reasons is the damage to the nerves that control the bladder.

The nerves also affect the urethral sphincter. When the urethral sphincter is damaged, urine leaks, and the bladder is left too full.

This can cause the person to urinate frequently and have a frequent feeling of urgency.

A high blood sugar level will put stress on the kidneys, which process glucose and remove it from the body.

This excess glucose will eventually build up in the kidneys and can cause dehydration.

Some people with diabetes are unaware that they have a condition that causes frequent urination.

However, they are frequently awoken from sleep. It can also deplete energy levels.

While many people with diabetes do not notice that they are urinating frequently, it is a sign that they have high blood sugar levels.

Interstitial cystitis

Interstitial cystitis

Interstitial cystitis is a chronic bladder condition characterized by pressure and pain while urinating.

The cysts can cause the bladder to become stiff, limiting its ability to expand as urine fills it.

The cyst walls may bleed or cause sores in the bladder lining. The disease affects between one and three million Americans.

People with this condition often experience frequent urination and pass small amounts of urine, resulting in a feeling of urgency.

While IC/BPS is not easily diagnosed, people with typical symptoms should see a doctor as soon as possible. Urine tests should show no infection or blood in the urine.

If you suspect that you have IC/BPS, your GP will perform tests to find out more about your condition.

If your symptoms persist, you should schedule an appointment to see a specialist.

Kidney infections

Kidney infections

When the kidneys are infected, the person may experience frequent urination. This is caused by bacteria called enterococci.

These bacteria normally reside in the bowel, but if they are not treated properly they can travel up into the bladder, causing infections.

The infection may also spread to the kidneys, causing a more serious condition known as cystitis.

However, this infection is often curable with antibiotics, although the recovery time may be longer if you have underlying health problems.

In addition to urine tests, doctors can use a urine culture to determine the exact type of bacteria responsible for the infection.

The doctor can then determine the appropriate antibiotic to treat the infection. However, sometimes other treatments may be necessary.

In some cases, x-rays are not necessary to diagnose kidney infections. An ultrasound may be enough to examine the affected part of the body.

Some patients may need to take pain relievers while undergoing a medical examination.

Urethritis

Urethritis

A doctor can treat urethritis in a variety of ways. For instance, antibiotics can be used if the infection is caused by bacteria, which can cause gonorrhea, chlamydia, and Mgen.

If the condition is caused by a virus, antiviral drugs, such as acyclovir and famciclovir, may be prescribed.

Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) can help reduce the amount of pain that is felt when urinating. Inflammation of the urethra causes frequent and painful urination.

In most cases, urethritis is caused by a bacterial infection that travels from the anus to the urethra.

Other causes include infection with the herpes simplex virus, an unprotected sexual partner, and certain types of bacteria.

However, most cases of urethritis are caused by an irritant that clogs the urethra. In many cases, this bacterial infection will clear up with antibiotics.
